Visual Computerized Campimetry

Thanks to the visual field, the peripheral retina can perceive objects that are not in the direct axis of vision. The field has been defined by some authors as an island of vision in a sea of blindness. The campirimetry determines the limits of this island.

The visual field test is one of the most used ancillary studies in ophthalmology in the detection and management of diseases such as glaucoma. It is also useful in other pathologies such as tumors, strokes, and optic nerve pathology among others. The advent of computerized campimeters currently allows not only to evaluate a qualitative visual field, but mostly by statistical quantitative analysis by computer programs that are in the software of the campimeter.
